The week-long events kick off at Soldier Field on Tuesday, September 15th with a ceremony welcoming all living Medal of Honor recipients to our City. The week continues with a series of school and community outreach programs that will put the recipients of our nation’s highest military award for valor in combat in touch with students and citizens throughout Chicago. Recipients will also be distinguished guests at venues throughout the city.
 
On Thursday, August 1th, leading up to the Air and Water Show, the City of Chicago has partnered with the 2009 Medal of Honor Host Committee and the Boeing Company to show Medal of Honor, a film produced by Roger Sherman, in Grant Park. The film is free and open to the public.

The week culminates with the Patriot Award Dinner, held at the Swissotel's new grand ballroom - and our Medal of Honor Host Hotel for the weeklong convention!
